MISTER DED
He's DED! Wrapped in plastic!! |
|
Eric smears Liquid Nails on the bones, and then covers it in plastic sheeting, which you use to pinch and wrinkle the goop into cool textures. It will have to dry for a couple of days and then I'm assured that we can peel the plastic right off to reveal the skin. (I haven't actually seen that part yet, but I'm looking forward to it.) |

Eric came back and did the skull a couple days later. I'll give Mr. D. a nice peel when I return to do the painting.
After the big reveal, I spritzed him down with a variety of mixtures. Stain, iodine, paint thinner and a nice mud rub, to bring out the flaws, veins and wrinkles. You're looking absolutely putrifaaaabulous dahling!! No facial is complete without a grass and dirt nasal treatment, administered by Eric. It's all the rage in the undead set. |

Today was really productive! The rain held off long enough for me to touch up the paint, antique the finish, and add the mane and tail. John gave me some old harness pieces to drape over the back. None of them are actually attached correctly, but it gets the idea across, and it's not like he's going anywhere.
Except for a few more touches of camouflage to cover up some of the stakes and shiny bits, he's pretty much done! I'll add photos of him all properly lit once we open for the season. |
