Upstairs Hall
Not really a room, but I'm including it anyway. All of our books are stashed here. It's kind of funny. The bookcases were a major problem because as big as the house is, we don't have much wall space. There are windows everywhere, and the downstairs is open concept. No walls down there! The "library" therefore ended up here. |
The hall color is uniform all over the house. They kind of flow into each other and it would have looked strange to switch from one color to another. It's a lot prettier in general. The scuffs and marks are gone, and the rooms feel warmer.
Mom and I found some neat architectural pieces for the sloped wall on the stairway. Craig didn't care for the colorful tile paintings I'd put there originally, so this is the compromise we made. Quite stylish.
Changed some of the furnishings around up here when the pothos plant suicided because it was getting too much light. I took out the small bookcase and put my hope chest in its place. The chest sticks out quite a bit more than I'm used to, so I had to get a lamp to illuminate the hallway at night--I just changed the room yesterday, and I've barked my knees twice. Duh! |
